What do custom cakes/cupcakes cost?
Custom cakes and cupcakes are priced according to the type of cake/filling used. Difficulty / Intricacy of the design, as well as the time and supplies needed. On average cakes start at $3.50 per serving including a layer of fondant covering. Cupcakes start at $2 per serving and include a traditional frosting swirl design.
How far in advance should I place the custom order?
BriefCakes accepts orders a minimum of 30 days before the event date. Depending on the complexity of the cake/cupcakes we may be able to accommodate an order placed earlier so please enquire to confirm.
Do you offer cake tastings?
Yes. Tasting appointments are available for cakes with 75 or more servings. We offer two options for cake tastings:
Chefs Choice: Sample the delicious cake and filling flavors already on hand (up to three cake and three filling flavors) Fee is $25 to be paid before your appointment.
Customer's Choice: Choose up to three cake flavors and three filling flavors of your choice. Fee is $40 to be paid before your appointment. A minimum of 72 hours notice is required before booking a tasting. You may cancel your tasting up to 48 hours before your appointment and receive a full refund.
Bonus: If you decide to book your custom cake/cupcakes with BriefCakes, we will take the cost of your tasting and apply it to your balance!
How can I pay for my custom order?
Cash and checks are accepted. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of order placement. Final payment is due one week before the due date. There is a $25 fee for returned checks.
What if i need to cancel my order?
Cancellations of all custom orders must be made a minimum of 72 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up or delivery time. If the order is cancelled less than 72 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up or delivery time the balance remaining is still due. Since orders are started several days in advance a cancellation of less than 72 hours would most likely occur on an almost completed cake.
Do you Deliver?
Yes! BriefCakes offers delivery on all wedding cakes and cakes with a minimum order of $400. Orders for delivery must be paid in full. Free delivery is offered within a 10 mile radius of zip code 85085. For all other locations the fee is a flat $50. Cakes for pickup can be scheduled M-F after 5pm and Saturday/Sunday before 12pm. If these times don’t work for your event please say so, we can always work something out!

Is everything used in my cake/cupcakes edible?
Some custom cakes require support systems that are inedible such as dowels, tooth picks, wires, cardboard and or Styrofoam. Please use caution when serving our cakes if there is any type of construction required to build your custom cake.
